North Korea Condemns US Aircraft Deployments Over Korean Peninsula

North Korea's foreign ministry vowed to "strongly curb any military provocations" through its right to self-defense.

Pyongyang: North Korea has criticized the United States for deploying military aircraft over the Korean peninsula multiple times this month and for coordinating military exercises with Japan and South Korea, state-run KCNA reported on Friday.

Additionally, Pyongyang condemned the joint Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG) established by the U.S. and South Korea, aimed at addressing North Korea’s nuclear threat.

In a statement, North Korea’s foreign ministry emphasized the nation’s resolve to counter perceived threats, stating it would “strongly curb any military provocations” through its inherent right to self-defense, as cited by KCNA.

The recent NCG meeting, held last week, saw the U.S. reaffirm its commitment to deploying strategic assets regularly on the Korean peninsula. This pledge was reiterated in a joint statement issued by the U.S. and South Korea.
