World No. 1 Jannik Sinner to Appear at CAS Hearing on April 16

WADA appealed the decision at CAS in September, leaving Sinner facing a potential two-year ban.

Lausanne/Melbourne: World number one Jannik Sinner’s doping case will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) starting on April 16, the CAS announced on Friday.

The Italian tennis star faced two failed drug tests in March for trace amounts of clostebol, an anabolic androgenic steroid. However, an independent tribunal cleared Sinner in August, accepting his explanation that the contamination was unintentional.

Despite this, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) appealed the decision at CAS in September, leaving Sinner exposed to the possibility of a two-year ban.

CAS confirmed that the hearing would be held behind closed doors, with no public proceedings requested. The two-day hearing is scheduled to address the appeal.
