Imphal: In an ongoing effort to maintain stability in Manipur, security forces have ramped up their vigilance across the state’s vulnerable hill and valley districts. Comprehensive search operations and area domination exercises led to the recovery of ammunition and explosive materials, ensuring a safer environment for residents.
Recovery of Ammunition and Explosives
Security forces carried out extensive searches in several regions, including Phayeng Porom Hill, K. Songlung, and Chiru, located within the Imphal West and Kangpokpi districts. Key recoveries include:
- Phayeng Porom Hill: 11 live SLR rounds, one SLR magazine, 66 empty SLR cartridges, and parts of a radio set (battery and antenna).
- K. Songlung: One misfired AK round, 102 empty AK cartridges, two empty SLR cartridges, one 12-bore cartridge, and a locally crafted bomb.
These operations underscore the proactive measures being taken to neutralize potential threats in sensitive areas.
Ensuring Safe Transit
Security forces have also prioritized the unhindered movement of essential supplies across the state. Along National Highway-2, 371 vehicles carrying crucial goods were safely escorted under strict security protocols. Armed convoys and patrols were deployed to monitor and secure sensitive sections of the route.

Enhanced Security Measures
To strengthen law and order, a total of 106 checkpoints have been established across the state, covering both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints have been instrumental in maintaining a controlled and secure environment. Notably, no detentions or violations were reported during this period, highlighting the efficiency of the deployed measures.
