Ankara: Turkey is actively coordinating with regional counterparts to address the escalating situation in northern Syria, according to a statement by a spokesman for the Turkish defense ministry on Thursday. The spokesperson emphasized that stabilizing measures are being implemented as part of Turkey’s commitment to maintaining regional stability.
The renewed clashes saw Syrian rebels make significant advances against President Bashar al-Assad’s forces, marking their most substantial progress in years. Reports indicate that the rebels are now advancing toward Hama, intensifying tensions in the conflict-ridden area.
In Ankara, the defense ministry spokesman reiterated Turkey’s stance that the ongoing conflict is driven by internal dynamics and unresolved issues within Syria. Despite the renewed violence, the spokesman affirmed Turkey’s adherence to agreements it has reached regarding the situation in Syria.
