Arlington, Texas: A large piece of metal and debris fell onto the field at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Monday, just hours before the Dallas Cowboys were set to face the Houston Texans. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to a spokesperson for the Cowboys, the incident occurred while the stadium’s retractable roof was in the process of opening. “It is being reviewed further, and a decision regarding the ability to re-open the roof safely will be made when possible,” the spokesperson said in a statement to the international news agency Reuters.
Images shared on social media revealed the large metal piece lying on the field, with media reports noting that it landed close to several production workers. The precise cause of the incident is under investigation.

The mishap comes just three days after the 80,000-capacity stadium hosted a packed crowd for a high-profile boxing match featuring former champion Mike Tyson and social media influencer-turned-fighter Jake Paul. The venue, renowned for its state-of-the-art facilities, has not reported similar issues with its retractable roof in recent memory.
