GAZA, November 15, 2024 – In a significant development in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, a senior member of Hamas’s political bureau, Bassem Naim, has declared the group’s readiness for a ceasefire. Speaking to AFP, Naim emphasized that Hamas would agree to a ceasefire if Israel presents a proposal and adheres to it.

“We call on the US administration and Trump to pressure the Israeli government to end the aggression,” Naim stated, highlighting the need for external diplomatic intervention to halt the hostilities in the region.

Iran’s Stance on Lebanon-Israel Ceasefire Talks

TEHRAN, November 15, 2024 – Concurrently, Iran has expressed its commitment to not disrupting ceasefire negotiations between Lebanon and Israel. Ali Larijani, an advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, conveyed this stance after discussions with Lebanese officials.

“We are not looking to sabotage anything. We are after a solution to the problems,” Larijani said, underlining Iran’s support for Lebanon and the Hezbollah movement, which he described as Lebanon’s “resistance.” This statement signals Iran’s interest in facilitating a peaceful resolution rather than escalating the conflict further.

These announcements come at a time when the international community is increasingly calling for de-escalation in the Middle East, with many eyes now turning to how the incoming US administration under Donald Trump will navigate these complex geopolitical issues.
