Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. Reports Q2 & H1FY25 Earnings; Board Approves Unaudited Results

Kolkata: The Board of Directors of Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited (MSEL) (BSE: 540650 / NSE: MAGADSUGAR) convened on November 11, 2024, to review and record the company’s unaudited financial results for Q2 and the half-year period ending September 30, 2024. The financials reflect MSEL’s ongoing performance and strategic progress across its operations.

  • Total Income in Q2FY25 at Rs. 324 Cr as against Rs. 289 Cr in Q2FY24.
  • EBITDA in Q2FY25 at Rs. 21 Cr as against Rs. 33 Cr in Q2FY24.
  • PAT in Q2FY25 at Rs. 5 Cr as against Rs. 15 Cr in Q2FY24.

H1FY25

  • Total Income in H1FY25 at Rs. 684 Cr as against Rs. 590 Cr in H1FY24.
  • EBITDA in H1FY25 at Rs 57 Cr as against Rs. 72 Cr in H1FY24.
  • PAT in H1FY25 at Rs. 17 Cr as against Rs. 31 Cr in H1FY24.

Commenting on the results, Mr. C.S. Nopany, Chairperson, Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd said:

The Government’s recent decision to lift restrictions on the use of cane juice, syrup, and B-heavy molasses for ethanol production holds significant potential. It is essential that the Government provides the right policy framework to support both the sugar and ethanol sectors, ensuring that mills can continue to operate efficiently and meet the growing demand.

We remain committed to driving sustainable growth through strategic investments in increasing our production capacity. We are confident that with the right policy support, the sector can successfully navigate these challenges and continue to contribute significantly to the future.” The ongoing capex program for increasing crushing capacity coupled with steam saving measure at Narkatiagunj unit will be operational with the beginning of new crushing season 2024-25.

The company was incorporated on 19th March 2015 with main object to deal in sugar and sugar products, spirits and alcohol of denatured of any strength and all other products arising out of the manufacturing process of sugar or resultant of any activity related to sugar business, generation of power through various means. The company is having three sugar mills at New Swadeshi Sugar Mills, Narkatiaganj (District West Champaran, Bihar), Bharat Sugar Mills (District Sidhwalia, Bihar), Hasanpur Sugar Mills, Hasanpur (District Samastipur, Bihar) with a combined crushing capacity of 21500 TCD. The company is also having two distilleries for ethanol at Narkatiaganj and Sidhwalia with a total ethanol capacity of 155 KLPD. The Company is also having Co-gen facility and can generate 38 MW power.
