New Sanctions: U.S. Hits Russia’s Allies with Broad Restrictions on Technology Suppliers

The sanctions target 275 individuals and entities from India, China, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Washington: Washington has launched a significant new wave of sanctions aimed at nearly 400 individuals and companies involved in providing Russia with advanced technology to strengthen its “war machine”. These measures underscore the U.S. government’s commitment to countering the ongoing support for Russia’s military capabilities amid its aggression in Ukraine.

The U.S. Treasury Department revealed extensive sanctions that will affect 275 individuals and entities from countries such as India, China, Switzerland, and Turkey. These measures are designed to “disrupt global evasion networks,” aiming to cut off critical resources flowing to Russia.

Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo emphasized the importance of these actions, stating, “The United States and our allies will continue to take decisive action around the world to stop the flow of critical tools and technologies that Russia needs to wage its illegal and immoral war against Ukraine.”
