Indian Navy Partners with TVS Motor Company for 2,500 km North East Expedition, Blending Performance and Purpose to Inspire India’s Youth to Join the Armed Forces

The contingent, which includes four women, is a proud representation of the Navy’s commitment to the Naari Shakti initiative also.

  • The 15-day expedition will see 40 Navy personnel ride TVS Apache motorcycles across Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam, showcasing the Indian Navy’s commitment to the nation.
  • Covering a total of 2,500 km, the ride aims to inspire the youth by highlighting career opportunities in the Indian Navy, including the Agnipath scheme.
  • Naval officers will engage with schools/ colleges along the route to provide information about the Navy and motivate students to pursue a career in the armed forces.

Kolkata: In a continued effort to engage with the nation’s youth, the Indian Navy has once again partnered with TVS Motor Company, a leading global automaker operating in the two and three-wheeler segments, for a 2,500 km expedition across North East India. The 15 day expedition would pass through various cities in the states of Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and engage with students in various schools/ colleges highlighting the career opportunities, the Indian Navy offers. This  journey, conducted on TVS Apache motorcycles, seeks to inspire young Indians by showcasing the Indian Navy’s roles and career prospects, including the Agnipath scheme, while fostering national pride.

This expedition of the Indian Navy’s Motor Bike team, ‘The Sea Riders,’ was flagged off from Vayu Shakti Sthal at in Shillong by Vice Adm Rajesh Pendharkar, AVSM, VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief. Lt Gen Sanjay Malik GOC 101 Area and Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, AVSM AVM also attended the event. The ride is designed to inspire communities in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh as the riders engage with schools / Colleges along the route.

In his address at the flag off ceremony, Vice Adm Rajesh Pendharkar, AVSM, VSM Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief stated, “Navy has always promoted adventure activities as these not only serve to inspire personnel to aim higher and achieve better, but also strengthen team-building and camaraderie that are crucial for their performance at sea.  He congratulated the Sea Riders for undertaking an expedition aimed at enhancing maritime consciousness and awareness about the Navy in an important part of the country that is distant from the seas but close to everyone’s hearts and wished them a safe and memorable ride on TVS motorcycles. He also thanked TVS Motors for partnering with the Navy for an important cause and hoped that this partnership would continue in the years to come.”
