Ukraine’s Path to NATO: G7 Ministers Express Strong Support

Italy, which holds the G7 chair for 2024, hosted the meeting that included defense ministers from the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, and Japan.

Naples: The defense ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) major democracies have expressed their strong support for Ukraine’s “irreversible path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership,” according to a statement released on Saturday. This declaration comes as Ukraine continues its defense against Russia’s ongoing aggression.

In the joint statement issued following their meeting in Naples, Italy, the G7 ministers affirmed, “We underscore our intent to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, including military assistance in the short and long term.” This commitment highlights their sustained backing of Ukraine as it strives for security and stability amid the conflict.
