Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed China’s readiness to foster a successful partnership with the United States, emphasizing that both nations have the potential to be enablers of each other’s development rather than obstacles. His remarks came in a letter addressed to the 2024 annual awards dinner of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, as reported by state media on Wednesday.

“China is willing to be a partner and friend with the United States. This will benefit not only the two countries, but the world,” Xi stated, according to a report by CCTV.

Xi highlighted the significance of China-U.S. relations, describing them as one of the most important bilateral relationships globally. He stressed that the future of humanity depends, in part, on the nature of the cooperation between the two nations.

While both countries have faced tensions, particularly over national security, trade issues, and disputes related to the South China Sea and Taiwan, Xi underscored the importance of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
