Netanyahu Calls for UN Withdrawal from Lebanon, Accuses Hezbollah of Using Peacekeepers as Shields

Netanyahu reports that Israeli forces are actively engaging Hamas in Jabaliya, northern Gaza, aiming to dismantle their strongholds and prevent the group from reestablishing itself.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for the withdrawal of United Nations peacekeepers from Lebanon, alleging that Hezbollah is using them as “human shields.” He addressed ongoing military actions in Gaza’s Jabaliya area, where Israeli forces are reportedly targeting Hamas positions.

In a recent video statement, Netanyahu asserted, “Our brave soldiers are now in the heart of Jabaliya, where they are dismantling the Hamas strongholds.” The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a renewed ground offensive aimed at preventing Hamas from reestablishing its presence in northern Gaza.

Meanwhile, the IDF has advised civilians in 21 additional villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate to areas north of the Awali River, as clashes with Hezbollah intensify. IDF Arabic-language spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee issued a warning on social media platform X, stating, “The IDF has no intention of harming you. For your own safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately and move north of the Awali River.”

Adraee cautioned residents about the dangers of being near Hezbollah operatives or facilities, adding, “Anyone who is near Hezbollah operatives, facilities or weapons is putting their life in danger.”
