The official death toll from the October 7 attack, which includes civilians and hostages killed in captivity, has reached 1,205. Hamas militants abducted 251 hostages, 97 of whom remain in captivity, with 33 confirmed dead.
Israel’s military response was swift, with Netanyahu declaring the nation “at war” just hours after the attack. The ensuing military campaign has reduced large parts of Gaza to rubble, exacerbating a humanitarian crisis.
