Israeli Military Confirms Killing Senior Hamas Leader Rawhi Mushtaha in Gaza Airstrike

The Israeli military has confirmed the death of senior Hamas leader Rawhi Mushtaha, who was killed in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip roughly three months ago. According to the military’s statement on Thursday, Mushtaha was killed alongside two other Hamas commanders, Sameh Siraj and Sameh Oudeh, in an underground compound in northern Gaza.

The strike targeted a fortified underground command and control center where the three commanders had taken refuge. Mushtaha was reportedly a close associate of Yahya Sinwar, the top Hamas leader, who is believed to be one of the key figures behind the October 7 attack on Israel that triggered the ongoing conflict.

There has been no immediate response from Hamas regarding the deaths of the commanders. Israeli officials have suggested that Sinwar is still alive and remains in hiding within Gaza.
