Donald Trump ‘Safe’ After Shooting Incident Near West Palm Beach, Campaign Reports

Law enforcement sources revealed that the Secret Service had observed a suspicious individual near the golf course.

Tallahassee: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been reported safe following a shooting incident near his location in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to law enforcement sources, the Secret Service responded swiftly to the incident, which occurred as Trump was leaving his golf club.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” said Trump spokesman Steven Cheung on Sunday afternoon. The New York Post reported that the incident involved an exchange of gunfire between two individuals outside the Trump International Golf Course. The shooters appeared to be targeting each other rather than the former president.

Law enforcement sources revealed that the Secret Service had observed a suspicious individual near the golf course. Agents opened fire after spotting what they believed to be a gun barrel. The details remain unclear as to whether the individual was on the course or in its immediate vicinity. An agent fired multiple shots, and the suspect was later apprehended by local police on Interstate 95.

The Secret Service and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating the incident. Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the United States Secret Service, confirmed the incident and assured the public of Trump’s safety. “The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m.,” Guglielmi stated.

This incident comes on the heels of a serious shooting on July 13 during a Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. During that event, a gunman opened fire, injuring Trump and killing one attendee. Two others were left in critical condition, underscoring the increasing security challenges surrounding the former president’s campaign activities.
