New York: Apple has officially confirmed the rollout date for its highly anticipated software updates, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and watchOS 11. The new updates will be available on September 16. However, Apple has noted that its Apple Intelligence features will not be part of the initial rollout and are expected to enter beta “later this fall,” with no specific release date announced.
macOS Sequoia: Standout Features
macOS Sequoia is packed with new features aimed at enhancing the user experience. One of the most exciting additions is iPhone Mirroring, which allows users to control their iPhone directly from their Mac, offering seamless cross-device functionality. Additionally, the new Passwords app consolidates all passwords and passkeys into a single, secure location for easier management.
Another major feature is Window Tiling, which improves multitasking by enabling users to arrange windows side-by-side with ease, simplifying complex workflows.
iPadOS 18: New Features
iPadOS 18 introduces some long-requested features, such as the long-awaited Calculator app, making its debut on the iPad. Also included is Math Notes, allowing users to solve mathematical expressions and plot graphs directly within the app. The Smart Script feature enhances handwriting recognition and enables live audio transcription in Notes, further boosting productivity.
Similar to iOS, the Photos app on the iPad is also undergoing a major overhaul, bringing new capabilities for photo management and editing.
watchOS 11: New Features for Apple Watch
With watchOS 11, the Vitals app becomes a centerpiece, offering users real-time snapshots of their health metrics and notifying them of significant changes. Smart Stack is also enhanced, adding contextually relevant widgets to improve usability.
The Cycle Tracking app has been upgraded with new features, including improved pregnancy tracking that displays gestational age and logs symptoms. Additionally, the redesigned Photos watch face uses machine learning to highlight the best compositions from the user’s photo library, providing a personalized aesthetic.
