New Delhi: Randhir Singh has been elected as the president of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for a four-year term, making history as the first Indian to hold the position. The election took place on Sunday, with Singh receiving unanimous support from the assembly.
At 77, Singh has been serving as the OCA acting president since 2021, stepping in for Kuwait’s Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, who was banned from sports administration for 15 years in May due to ethics violations. The election, held in New Delhi, also saw the appointment of five vice presidents and an equal number of executive board members, all elected unopposed.
