Russian Forces Claim Control of 40% of Chasiv Yar, Threatening Ukrainian Defense

The town's capture could also jeopardize vital supply lines connecting these key urban centers, posing a serious challenge to Ukraine's defense of the Donetsk region.

Kyiv: The Ukrainian military has reported a significant advance by Russian forces, who have taken control of approximately 40% of the town of Chasiv Yar.

“Russian forces have seized approximately 40% of Chasiv Yar,” stated Oleksandr Polukhin, spokesperson for the 24th Mechanized Brigade.

In a televised interview, Polukhin warned that the complete capture of Chasiv Yar would grant Russian forces a substantial tactical advantage. The town’s elevated position provides a commanding view over nearby cities such as Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kramatorsk, making it a strategic point in the ongoing conflict.

The town’s capture could also jeopardize vital supply lines connecting these key urban centers, posing a serious challenge to Ukraine’s defense of the Donetsk region.
