Captured Ukrainian Soldiers Accuse Russia of Deception

The footage shows Alaudinov questioning one of the prisoners, who had previously boasted about coming to "kill Russians".

Kyiv: Ukrainian soldiers, recently captured in Russia’s Kursk region, have come forward with allegations that they were deliberately misled and deceived into entering the area, leading to their eventual capture by Russian forces.

Lured into a Trap

According to a report by Lenta, the claims were made in a video posted on Telegram by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. The video features an interrogation conducted by Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Chechen special forces unit “Akhmat”. Kadyrov stated that Russian forces lured the Ukrainian troops into a trap using deceptive radio communications.

The footage shows Alaudinov questioning one of the prisoners, who had previously boasted about coming to “kill Russians”. The interrogation revealed details of their ill-fated mission. The Ukrainian soldiers claimed their unit consisted of two vehicles, each carrying ten men, including two snipers.

Dire Situation Unfolds

The video further highlighted the grim situation faced by the Ukrainian troops. One soldier reportedly suffered a shrapnel injury and was evacuated, while another was fatally shot in the head. The remaining soldiers were unable to locate their injured comrades, who were ultimately left behind in a field.

When asked by Alaudinov how they ended up in Kursk, the prisoners of war stated they were misled about their destination. In response, Alaudinov suggested that Russians are not the true enemies of the Ukrainians. Instead, he pointed to America, accusing it of pushing Ukrainians into a futile conflict.

Previous Incidents

Earlier, Kadyrov posted another video featuring a captured fighter from Ukraine’s Azov Regiment, an organization Russia has designated as a terrorist group. In the video, the fighter reported witnessing eight of his comrades killed in the Kursk region.
