Ukrainian Forces Intercept 29 Russian Drones in Overnight Assault

While debris from the intercepted drones caused damage to windows of a private business in Cherkasy, other regions, including Kyiv, Poltava, and Kirovohrad, experienced no significant infrastructure damage or casualties.

Kyiv: On Thursday, Ukrainian Air Force officials confirmed that they successfully intercepted all 29 Russian drones launched in a nighttime attack from Wednesday to Thursday.

Drone and Missile Attack

Digi24 reported that the drones targeted eight Ukrainian regions, resulting in only minor damage. Alongside the drone attack, Russia fired three Kh-59 guided missiles. The Kh-59, a Soviet-era missile with a range of approximately 115 miles (185 kilometers), is designed for precision strikes against both land and sea targets. It can carry a warhead weighing up to 990 pounds (450 kilograms) and is typically launched from aircraft such as the Su-24 and Su-30 fighter jets.

Damage and Interceptions

In Mykolaiv (Nikolaev), Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted five drones, though details on any resulting damage were not disclosed.

Kherson, in the south, saw eight drones shot down. Earlier on Wednesday, Russian attacks in Kherson had resulted in one death and injuries to 13 others.
