Mumbai: The highly anticipated trailer for Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency was released on Wednesday, offering a glimpse into the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Ranaut, who stars in the titular role, has also produced and directed the film.

The trailer provides an inside look into Gandhi’s life, showcasing her struggles to maintain power in a male-dominated political landscape. It hints at significant moments and challenges in Gandhi’s career, from upholding her family legacy to navigating a nation amid political upheavals.

Emergency: Cast and Release Date

Emergency features Kangana Ranaut as Indira Gandhi, with Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram. Ritesh Shah is credited with the screenplay.

After several delays, Emergency is scheduled for release worldwide on September 6, 2024.
