Manila: The Philippine Navy condemned the actions of the Chinese air force in Scarborough Shoal last week, labeling them as “coercive, aggressive, and deceptive”. Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad criticized the maneuvers, stating they were unacceptable in the international arena governed by international law.

During a briefing on Tuesday, Trinidad detailed how China’s air force had dropped flares and executed hazardous maneuvers that put Filipino pilots at risk over the contested South China Sea. In response, the Chinese military has countered these claims, asserting that their actions were conducted in a professional and legal manner.
