Middle East Conflict Intensifies as Hezbollah Strikes Israel

The attacks were said to be in retaliation for Israel's strikes on Kfar Kela and Deir Siriane in Lebanon.

Cairo: On Saturday, Hezbollah announced it launched dozens of rockets towards Israel, escalating tensions in the Middle East. This surge in conflict follows the killing of Hamas’s political chief, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran earlier this week, prompting a response from Iran and its allies.

Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group, claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks on Moshav Beit Hillel, resulting in civilian injuries, according to The Times of Israel. The attacks were said to be in retaliation for Israel’s strikes on Kfar Kela and Deir Siriane in Lebanon. Most of the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system.

President Joe Biden has called on Iran to “stand down” amid the rising tensions. The international community watches with concern as the situation threatens to destabilize the region further.
