Trump: Teslas Are Great, But No One Should Be Forced to Buy Them

Trump vows to end the Biden-Harris electric vehicle mandate, emphasizing that while electric cars like Teslas are desirable, consumers should not be forced to purchase them.

Former President Donald Trump has vowed to end what he terms the “Biden-Harris electric vehicle mandate,” asserting that while electric cars like those produced by Tesla are desirable, consumers should not be forced to buy them. In a recent statement, Trump said, “We want you to buy electric cars, Elon, but not everybody.” He also promised significant tax cuts for workers, including the elimination of taxes on tips.

Musk Denies Funding Trump’s Campaign

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has refuted claims that he pledged $45 million per month to support Trump’s campaign. In a two-hour interview with psychologist Jordan Peterson, posted on X (formerly Twitter), Musk addressed the misinformation, stating, “What’s been reported in the media is simply not true.”

Despite denying the alleged donations, Musk expressed his support for Trump, praising the former president’s “instinctual courage” during an attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. Musk explained that his endorsement is based on shared principles rather than a “cult of personality.”

Trump on Inflation and Energy Policy

Trump also criticized the current administration’s handling of inflation, claiming, “We’ve had the worst inflation in our country’s history. The numbers are much higher than they’re showing.” He promised to reduce prices by ending what he described as a war on American energy, advocating for increased domestic drilling.

Immigration Policy and Deportation Plans

In a stark address on immigration, Trump accused Vice President Kamala Harris of allowing dangerous criminals to enter the country. “Harris will let murderers, child predators, bloodthirsty rapists, and drug dealers charge across our borders by the tens of thousands a day,” he claimed.

Trump pledged to expel “killers, criminals, illegal aliens, and gang members” from the country, promising to begin “the largest deportation operation in American history” if elected. “With your vote, we will begin the largest deportation operation in American history. We have no choice,” he asserted.
