Man Arrested in Connection with Clifton Suspension Bridge Remains Discovery

Authorities confirmed on Friday that the remains belonged to two adult men, and indicated that the primary suspect had traveled from London carrying the suitcases.

London: British police apprehended a man on Saturday in relation to the discovery of human remains found in two suitcases at the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge in western England last week.

The 24-year-old suspect was arrested in Bristol, where the bodies were located, and is scheduled to be transported to London for further questioning later today, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

Authorities confirmed on Friday that the remains belonged to two adult men, and indicated that the primary suspect had traveled from London carrying the suitcases.

Police responded to reports just before midnight on Wednesday about a man behaving suspiciously with a suitcase on the bridge. A second suitcase was discovered nearby.

As of Saturday, investigations are ongoing, with authorities stating they are not actively seeking additional suspects in connection with the incident at this stage.

“We understand the concerns of local communities in both Bristol and London and officers will remain in the … areas over the coming days to reassure those affected by this tragic incident,” stated Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine.
