US Charges 193 Individuals in $2.75 Billion Healthcare Fraud Crackdown

Washington: The U.S. Justice Department has announced charges against 193 individuals, among them 76 doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals, for their involvement in health care fraud schemes totaling $2.75 billion. This action, unveiled on Thursday, marks a significant crackdown on fraudulent activities within the healthcare sector.

According to a statement released by the department, the enforcement operation, spanning 32 federal districts, resulted in the seizure of over $231 million in cash, luxury vehicles, gold, and other assets. Key cases highlighted include the unlawful distribution of millions of Adderall pills and fraudulent drug addiction treatment schemes amounting to $146 million.
