Russia Considers Diplomatic Downgrade with the West, Kremlin Reveals

Moscow: The Kremlin disclosed on Thursday that Russia is contemplating the potential downgrade of diplomatic relations with Western nations in response to increased involvement by the United States and its allies in the Ukraine conflict. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that no final decision has been reached.

“The issue of reducing diplomatic relations is a standard practice for states encountering unfriendly or hostile actions,” Peskov informed reporters, addressing queries about the potential move. He emphasized, “Given the heightened Western intervention in the Ukrainian crisis, the Russian Federation finds it necessary to explore various responses to such hostile actions.”
