Jerusalem: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a stern warning on Monday from an Israeli commission investigating suspected irregularities in the government’s procurement of submarines and missile boats from Germany.
The commission informed Netanyahu that based on current evidence, it could potentially conclude that during his tenure from 2009 to 2016, he authorized these purchases without following proper procedures. This, they asserted, jeopardized national security and harmed Israel’s foreign relations and economic interests, according to a decision released by the panel.

Netanyahu defended the purchases, stating, “The submarines are essential for Israel’s security in the face of Iran’s threats to destroy us.” His office issued a statement affirming his decisions were correct and in Israel’s best security interests.
