Zimbabwe’s President Seeks Cooperation with Russia

Addressing the recurring droughts in Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa underscored the critical need for improved water management strategies.

St. Petersburg: Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently initiated discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, proposing areas of collaboration during a private meeting in St. Petersburg.

Speaking to TASS at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Mnangagwa emphasized the necessity for enhanced agricultural mechanization in Zimbabwe. He highlighted Russia’s potential to contribute significantly to a sustainable solution.

Addressing the recurring droughts in Zimbabwe, Mnangagwa underscored the critical need for improved water management strategies.

“We must construct additional dams to ensure adequate water resources for local food production, irrespective of drought conditions,” he elaborated.

Expressing confidence in Russia’s capabilities to support Zimbabwe in this endeavor, Mnangagwa affirmed, “Russia has the capacity to assist us in this crucial area.”
