New Delhi: In a significant move to bolster defence collaboration, Michel Spinnelis, the head of procurement at the Greek Ministry of Defence, is set to embark on a pivotal four-day visit to Delhi starting July 1.
“This is the first visit at this level, and it is an effort to see what the two countries can do together, whether in terms of joint production or something even more,” a senior official remarked.
The visit marks a milestone in the strategic partnership between India and Greece, with both nations’ air forces operating the state-of-the-art Rafale fighter jets. Discussions are underway to explore joint procurement initiatives that could lead to cost savings on additional Rafales or spare parts. Greece may also consider acquiring Indian-manufactured trucks and ammunition, fostering a mutual exchange of resources and expertise.
