Expressing confidence in the feasibility of the timeline, Musk suggested that the goal could be accomplished within 20 to 30 years, underscoring the transformative potential of innovative technologies in space exploration.
In addition to establishing a human presence on Mars, Musk revealed plans to extend his Starlink satellite network to the Red Planet. This initiative aims to provide reliable internet connectivity, albeit with a significant delay due to the considerable distance between Mars and Earth.
“We’ll send Starlink satellites to Mars too so that Mars will have great internet,” Musk explained. Despite the inherent communication challenges posed by the distance, Musk believes that basic online communication, such as texting and emailing, can be synchronized with Earth’s internet infrastructure, albeit with a delay ranging from 4 to 20 minutes.
As Musk continues to push the boundaries of space exploration and technology, his vision for humanity’s future on Mars represents a bold step towards realizing the dream of interplanetary colonization.
