Earthquake of Magnitude 3.9 Strikes Sikar, Rajasthan: No Damage Reported

Jaipur: A seismic event of magnitude 3.9 shook Sikar, Rajasthan, on Saturday, occurring precisely at 11:47 pm, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

This earthquake, striking at a depth of 5km, was pinpointed at coordinates 27.41 N latitude and 75.06 E longitude. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage stemming from the tremor.

In a post, the NCS detailed the event: “EQ of M: 3.9, On: 08/06/2024 23:47:16 IST, Lat: 27.41 N, Long: 75.06 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Sikar, Rajasthan.”

The National Center for Seismology, operating under the auspices of the Earth Sciences ministry, serves as the primary entity responsible for monitoring seismic activity throughout India.

Just last week, a similar magnitude 3.9 earthquake rumbled through Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, occurring at a slightly deeper depth of 10 km. Fortunately, no significant damages were reported.
