New York/New Delhi: ChatGPT, a popular AI chatbot, has experienced a widespread outage affecting thousands of users worldwide. OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, has acknowledged the problem and is actively working on a solution to address the issue. The outage, which saw a surge in reports around 1pm (IST), has impacted users trying to access ChatGPT, the OpenAI website, and the ChatGPT app.
According to data from Downdetector, 81% of users who reported problems encountered difficulties accessing ChatGPT, while 14% had trouble accessing the OpenAI website, and 5% faced issues with the ChatGPT app.
OpenAI has addressed the issue on a support page, stating, “ChatGPT is unavailable for some users.” In a subsequent post, published at 1:32 AM PDT (around 2:00 PM India time), OpenAI announced, “We have identified the issue and are actively mitigating it.”
Further updates from OpenAI have reassured users that efforts are underway to resolve the problem, stating, “We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.”
