New York: A popular US media outlet, The New York Times, has unearthed shocking revelations suggesting an affair between tech mogul Elon Musk and Nicole Shanahan, the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin and a notable figure in Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s vice-presidential pick. The alleged affair, which both parties vehemently deny, reportedly led to Shanahan’s separation and eventual divorce from Brin, with her reportedly receiving a staggering $1 billion in the divorce settlement last year.
In an exposé titled “A Running Mate’s History: $1 Billion, Cocaine, a Fling With Elon Musk”, The New York Times delves into fresh details surrounding the purported relationship between Nicole Shanahan and Elon Musk, despite their denials.
Shanahan, a 38-year-old lawyer, tied the knot with Brin in 2018. Throughout their five-year marriage, she reportedly immersed herself in the upper echelons of Silicon Valley society, engaging in social gatherings where recreational drugs like ketamine, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms were allegedly prevalent. According to accounts from eight individuals and documents scrutinized by The New York Times, Shanahan purportedly indulged in these substances. Additionally, three sources claimed that she partook in ketamine with Tesla founder Elon Musk at a gathering.

The report suggests that the strain of the coronavirus pandemic, coupled with their daughter’s autism diagnosis, took a toll on both Shanahan and Brin. Amidst these challenges, Shanahan allegedly started spending more time away from her husband.
In the fall of 2021, she hosted a birthday celebration attended by Elon Musk, a close associate of Brin’s. The reported intimate encounter between Musk and Shanahan allegedly transpired later that same year.

The controversial gathering occurred in December 2021 at a Miami event hosted by Elon Musk’s brother, Kimbal Musk. According to accounts from four individuals, Musk and Shanahan consumed ketamine together and “disappeared together for several hours”.
Subsequently, Shanahan purportedly disclosed the encounter to her then-husband Sergey Brin, as relayed by three sources to The New York Times. She reportedly made similar revelations to friends and family.
Approximately two weeks following the event, Brin and Shanahan separated, with Brin filing for divorce in 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
