Kolkata, India: A 35 year-old female was from the United States was blessed with a pregnancy after treatment at an Indira IVF clinic in Kolkata. Anna (name changed) and Saurabh (name changed, age 36) were trying to conceive through assisted reproductive technology (ART) for a long period in the States, but were only faced with unsuccessful outcomes. That changed when the couple travelled to India underwent ART treatment in the city’s Indira IVF clinic.
Anna and Saurabh had previously experienced three miscarriages with natural conception, followed by three unsuccessful IUI (intrauterine insemination) cycles performed in the US. These experiences had shattered their hopes of parenthood. However, they got convinced for travel to India on their friend’s recommendation as they heard of many positive outcomes in the country. At the Kolkata Indira IVF clinic, the couple initially underwent IVF (in vitro fertilisation) treatment with a biopsy process and achieved a positive pregnancy test in the first attempt. However, they unfortunately experienced a missed abortion at six weeks.
Faced with a case of unexplained infertility, the Indira IVF team, led by Sabina Yeasmin – Chief Embryologist at Indira IVF Kolkata, devised a personalised treatment plan. This incorporated Lymphocyte Immunisation Therapy (LIT), a specialised treatment for certain cases of unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss. Following LIT, the couple embarked on another full IVF cycle with embryo transfer. This time, their perseverance paid off, resulting in a positive pregnancy test and a currently ongoing healthy pregnancy.
