Kolkata: Goutam Ghose, the renowned Bengali Film director, is set to be honored at the ‘Starlight Ananya Samman 2024’ as the ‘Best Director in the Bengali Film Industry’. He is celebrated for his contributions primarily in the Bengali Film Industry, earning acclaim for his direction from numerous film critics and movie enthusiasts. Among his most successful films are Padma Nadir Majhi, Kaalbela, and Moner Manush, which have brought him into the limelight.
Ghose holds the distinction of being the only Indian to have received the “Vittorio Di Sica” Award in Italy in 1997. He has been awarded the National Award 18 times. In 2012, the Government of West Bengal honored him with the Banga Bibhushan for lifetime achievement. In recognition of his contributions to the film industry, he was bestowed with the Knighthood of the Star of the Italian Solidarity in July 2006.

‘Starlight Ananya Samman 2024’ is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 15th, at the Rabindra Tirtha Auditorium Hall in Rajarhat – Newtown, where luminaries from the Bengali film and television industry will be felicitated.
The event is produced by none other than the popular Bengali actress, philanthropist, and activist Payel Sarkar. This marks the third year of this mega event, with sponsorship provided by Sudarshan Maity, owner of Executive Furniture.
