Asaduddin Owaisi Dismisses EAC Report on Hindu Population Decline as “Whatsapp University” Findings

The EAC-PM report showed a 7.82% decline in India's Hindu population share from 1950 to 2015. Meanwhile, the Muslim population share rose from 9.84% to 14.09% during the same period.

New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi, leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), responded critically to a recent report by the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), dismissing it as emanating from “Whatsapp University”.

Addressing inquiries regarding the reported decline in the Hindu population, Owaisi sought clarification on the report’s source and authorship before providing a comprehensive response. He remarked, “Forward me the report then I will respond. Whose report is this? Who made this report? Report from Whatsapp University. Who made this report?”

Owaisi’s remarks come in the wake of the EAC-PM report, which revealed a 7.82% decrease in India’s Hindu population share between 1950 and 2015, alongside a notable increase in the Muslim population share, from 9.84% in 1950 to 14.09% in 2015.
