Mumbai: Commemorating World Dance Day, Bollywood luminary Nargis Fakhri embarked on a nostalgic voyage, recalling her nerve-racking yet exhilarating initiation into on-screen dance with the movie ‘Rockstar’, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor.
Renowned for her infectious dance moves in chart-topping songs, Fakhri reflected on the importance of dance in her life, asserting, “Dancing is one of the best forms of expression on screen. It’s like meditation; I forget all stress when I dance.” She further expressed her admiration for great choreography.

Fakhri’s foray into dance commenced with ‘Rockstar’, where she admitted to feeling jittery on set. However, as the music started playing, her inhibitions dissolved, and she surrendered to the rhythm, a moment she cherishes as “incredibly special.”
Recalling her experience, Fakhri said, “My first dance on screen was with ‘Rockstar’, and it remains incredibly special. I was a wreck on set, so nervous, but once the music played, I couldn’t resist tapping my feet. It was thrilling! I hope to dance more on screen.”

Directed by Imtiaz Ali and released in 2011, ‘Rockstar’ follows the journey of Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a Delhi youngster aspiring to be a rockstar like his idol, Jim Morrison. His encounter with free-spirited Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri) transforms him into Jordan, setting him on a path of love, heartbreak, and fame.
Renowned for its soul-stirring music by A R Rahman, including hits like ‘Sadda Haq’ and ‘Nadaan Parindey’, ‘Rockstar’ garnered critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and music, earning numerous awards and nominations.
