Hezbollah Targets Israel in Late-Night Attack, IDF Confirms 26 Rockets Fired from Lebanon

Rockets strike open areas near the northern community of Bar Yohai, triggering sirens in Mount Meron area communities. IDF confirm the rocket attack, stating no injuries or damage reported in the cross-border assault.

In a late-night barrage, Hezbollah has targeted northern Israel with rockets, as confirmed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF reports that at least 26 rockets were fired from Lebanon in a cross-border attack by the Lebanese terror group.

The rocket fire struck open areas near the northern community of Bar Yohai, triggering sirens in several communities in the Mount Meron area. Fortunately, no injuries or damage were reported in the attack, according to the military.

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the barrage, stating that it launched dozens of Katyusha rockets at Israeli communities in the Meron area. The group cited recent Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanese towns as the motive for the attack, which the IDF has confirmed targeted Hezbollah positions.

France’s Foreign Minister is set to visit Lebanon on Sunday to propose measures aimed at preventing further escalation and potential conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah. France, with historical ties to Lebanon, seeks to refine a roadmap acceptable to both sides to ease tensions.

Earlier this year, French proposals suggested a withdrawal of Hezbollah’s elite unit by 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the Israeli border, coupled with a cessation of Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, in efforts to de-escalate the situation.
