According to recent buzz, the storyline will witness the trio uniting against a common adversary portrayed by Kamal Haasan, who is said to take on the role of ‘Kali’.

The announcement, made precisely two months prior to the release date, follows earlier speculations hinting at a June 2024 release after missing the initial May 6 deadline.

Despite unveiling teasers, first-look images, and character posters, fans eagerly await the trailer’s launch. Just last week, a glimpse of Bachchan’s character was teased, hinting at a remarkable transformation for the megastar. The film reportedly employs cutting-edge de-aging technology to showcase Amitabh in his iconic ‘angry young man’ avatar.

Originally known as ‘Project K’, the movie unfolds in a distant future where darkness reigns supreme, as teased in its initial ComiCon presentation. With a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore, “Kalki 2898 AD” stands as the most expensive Indian film to date.

Initially scheduled for a worldwide premiere on January 12, 2024, the release date was pushed back to May 2024 due to unforeseen delays in production and last-minute shoots, eventually settling on June 2024.

The film is slated for a grand global release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English, with the musical score composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
