Chennai: As Rajinikanth’s fans eagerly anticipate updates on his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagraj, there’s buzz surrounding another project – his film with Nelson, speculated to be Jailer 2. Latest reports suggest that Jailer 2 might be titled “Hukum”, with Nelson gearing up to commence pre-production activities by June 2024.
The initial draft of Jailer 2 reportedly meets with approval from the team, with Nelson’s vision for the sequel receiving accolades. “Nelson is keen on delving deeper into Rajinikanth’s character as Tiger aka. Muthuvel Pandian and has crafted a sequel that seamlessly continues the narrative. With the green light from Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures, Nelson is poised to kickstart pre-production by June 2024,” stated a reputed media outlet.

Sources indicate a desire from the production team to commence filming towards the end of the year, following Rajinikanth’s wrap on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalaivar 171. “Jailer 2 is scheduled to commence shooting either towards the end of this year or early 2025, depending on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s project timeline… The tentative title ‘Hukum’ resonates with Rajinikanth’s iconic portrayal and the team leans towards this option,” added the source.

Regarding Thalaivar 171, speculation abounds about Rajinikanth’s remuneration, with reports suggesting figures ranging from Rs 250+ crore to Rs 260-280 crore. While no official confirmation has surfaced, if accurate, this would mark a historic milestone, potentially making Rajinikanth the highest-paid actor in Asia. Thalaivar 171 boasts a star-studded cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh, and Parvathy Thiruvothu, currently in the pre-production phase.
