The All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) has unveiled its candidate roster for the 42 Parliamentary Constituencies in West Bengal. The announcement marks a notable shift, with the party opting not to field at least eight sitting MPs while introducing fresh faces to the political arena. Among the newcomers are former cricketers Yusuf Pathan and Kriti Azad.
Despite the changes, the TMC has chosen to renominate 16 of its sitting MPs, indicating a blend of continuity and change in its electoral strategy. Notably, the party has demonstrated its commitment to gender representation by fielding 12 women candidates in West Bengal, underscoring its emphasis on inclusivity and diversity in the upcoming elections.
