The trending hashtag #RoyalAnnouncement on X platform appears to be misleading or false. In response to widespread rumors circulating in Russian media, Buckingham Palace has refuted claims of King Charles III’s demise. Despite a viral report suggesting otherwise, the British monarch is confirmed to be alive and well.
Speculation regarding Charles’ health intensified amidst reports of an impending major announcement from the BBC concerning the royal family. While some anticipate news related to Princess Kate Middleton’s recovery following abdominal surgery, others speculate about updates on Charles’ battle with cancer.
A statement bearing the official seal of the British monarch’s London residence, dated March 18, addressed the rumors, stating: “The following announcement is made by royal communications. The King passed away unexpectedly yesterday afternoon.”
However, the palace swiftly responded to the misinformation, issuing a statement to the Russian state-run TASS news agency.
“We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official and private business,” the statement asserts.
At 75 years old, the British monarch has been undergoing cancer treatment since late January, but reports of his demise are categorically untrue.
