New York: In a recent update, Tesla (TSLA.O) disclosed its plans to implement a $1,000 price increase across all Model Y cars in the United States, effective April 1. The announcement was made via the automaker’s official website.
“Prices will increase by $1K for all Model Y trims on April 1,” stated Tesla on its website.

This move follows the company’s earlier decision on March 1 to raise prices for its Model Y rear-wheel drive and long-range variants by $1,000, setting them at $43,990 and $48,990, respectively. However, Tesla did not explicitly clarify whether the upcoming April increase would be in addition to the March adjustments for these particular models.
Notably, Tesla had initiated temporary price reductions for certain Model Y vehicles in the U.S. back in February. This adjustment came shortly after the company had slashed prices across its offerings in Europe and China.
CEO Elon Musk reflected on the intricacies of manufacturing dynamics in a statement made in February, responding to a post on X from Tesla indicating forthcoming price hikes in March. “This is the essential quandary of manufacturing: factories need continuous production for efficiency, but consumer demand is seasonal,” noted Musk.
