Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi marked the culmination of his 63-day-long Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai, paying homage to Dr. B R Ambedkar at his memorial, Chaityabhoomi, in central Mumbai. Gandhi, accompanied by his sister and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, honored the legacy of the Indian Constitution’s architect by reading its Preamble.
Addressing a public gathering in the Dharavi area earlier, Gandhi reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to conducting a caste census. He also affirmed that impoverished women would receive Rs 1 lakh annually in their bank accounts if the Congress returned to power.
“Dharavi is yours and should remain yours. Your skills should be honoured and this place should become a manufacturing hub of the country,” Gandhi emphasized, alluding to the ongoing redevelopment project in the slum area awarded to the Adani Group.

The yatra, which commenced from strife-torn Manipur on January 14, reached Mumbai on its 63rd day, crossing through neighboring Thane on Saturday.
On Sunday morning, Gandhi is scheduled to undertake a ‘Nyay Sankalp Padyatra’ from Mani Bhavan to August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai.
Furthermore, on Sunday, the opposition INDIA bloc is set to organize a rally to demonstrate its strength. The event will witness participation from prominent leaders including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
