Our achievement is attributed to transparent target disclosures, robust governance structures, effective risk management strategies, and proactive measures taken to address climate change impacts. Notably, our exemplary disclosures on scope 3 emissions and climate change opportunities have earned us an “A-” rating in Climate Change disclosures.
CDP, a global non-profit environmental disclosure platform, assessed data from over 23,000 companies representing US $67 trillion in market capitalization in 2023. Companies’ environmental performance data undergoes independent evaluation using CDP’s rigorous scoring methodology.
Godrej Industries Limited (Chemicals) stands out as one of the select Indian companies featured in the leadership index. In recent years, we have spearheaded numerous initiatives towards achieving our environmental sustainability goals. Key initiatives undertaken in the previous fiscal year include:
- Complete mapping and monitoring of Scope 3 emissions
- Over 68% of energy sourced from renewables
- Reduced specific emissions per tonne of product by 66% since FY12
Beyond Climate Change, we have also submitted disclosures on Water Security and Forests, earning a “B” rating in water security and a “B-” rating in forests, surpassing the Asia and Chemicals sector average scores of “C” in both categories.
