Imran Khan, the incarcerated founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, confirmed his intention to correspond with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during a conversation with reporters at Adiala Jail.
He stated that PTI would be drafting a letter to the IMF concerning alleged election irregularities. “We will apprise the Fund of the lack of investor confidence in the regime due to the rigged elections,” Khan remarked, emphasizing PTI’s call for an investigation into the alleged election manipulation.
Expressing concern over the potential consequences of seeking new loans amidst political instability, Khan cautioned that acquiring loans without corresponding investments could exacerbate poverty and harm the country’s economy. He stressed the importance of political stability before considering new loans.
