New York: WWE sensation Sonya Deville, known off-screen as Daria Berenato, exchanged vows with her longtime partner Toni Cassano in a lavish ceremony at The Legacy Castle in New Jersey, attended by 140 guests.
Deville shared with People’s Alex Ross the eclectic mix of attendees, revealing, “We have two and a half tables or three tables of just WWE people. We have our neighbors coming and old family friends, and so it’s like this big wrestler next to my little neighbor. There’s going to be some funny pairings there.”
Close friend and former WWE star Mandy Rose, alongside an array of wrestling personalities including Bayley, Bianca Belair, Montez Ford, Charlotte Flair, Andrade, Liv Morgan, and Chelsea Green, graced the event. Notable figures like WWE NXT announcer Vic Joseph and former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona added to the star-studded guest list.
The ceremony, officiated by former Extra and E! News host Maria Menounos, reflected Deville’s journey, from being the first openly gay female wrestler in WWE history, announced during her time on the reality show Tough Enough in 2015, to her accomplishments in the ring and beyond.
Although currently sidelined with an injury, Deville’s wrestling accolades, including a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship win with Green, underscore her impact in the industry.
Despite the setback of a torn ACL shortly after her championship victory, Deville sees a silver lining: the opportunity to celebrate her marriage and embark on a well-deserved honeymoon to Costa Rica with her new spouse, Toni Cassano.
