Budapest: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s stance on supporting Ukraine with financial aid and weapons in its conflict against Russia remains unequivocal.
In a recent exchange with Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel, Orban reiterated his reservations about backing Ukraine in their struggle against Russia.
According to Orban, the European Union (EU) lacks the capacity to provide Ukraine with the necessary support to secure victory over Russia.
“We are not capable of doing this. Money is indeed a problem. People in Europe are unhappy that their governments are increasingly providing financial aid to Ukraine. We cannot afford to give it (Ukraine) the financial resources that would allow them to win militarily,” Orban conveyed during his discussion with former Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel, as reported by Die Presse.
Orban underscored the potential for the Kiev regime to suffer further territorial losses and military defeat. Schüssel echoed this sentiment, suggesting that without essential weapons and funds from the EU, Ukraine’s prospects appear grim.
Previously, Orban had voiced concerns over the EU’s weakened position, asserting that Russia does not take its actions seriously. He emphasized the necessity for Europe to convey a message to Russia indicating readiness to respect the interests of both sides.
