Panaji: In a significant development, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate India Energy Week 2024, along with laying the foundation stone for several key development projects in Goa. The four-day event, taking place from February 6 to 9, is poised to bring together global oil and gas CEOs and experts in a roundtable discussion, as announced by the Indian Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Monday.
With an impressive lineup, the event anticipates the participation of 17 energy ministers from diverse countries, over 35,000 attendees, and more than 900 exhibitors. The six dedicated country pavilions featuring Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, the UK, and the USA underscore the international significance of India Energy Week 2024. Additionally, a special Make in India Pavilion is set to spotlight innovative solutions pioneered by Indian MSMEs in the energy sector.
During his visit to Goa, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects totaling over Rs. 1330 crore under Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047. Notable inaugurations include the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa, the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports, and the 100 TPD Integrated Waste Management Facility in South Goa.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Passenger Ropeway, connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, along with associated tourism activities. Another significant milestone will be the foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a 100 MLD water treatment plant in South Goa.
In a testament to India’s strides in sea survival training, PM Modi is set to dedicate the ONGC Sea Survival Centre to the nation. The one-of-a-kind integrated sea survival training centre aims to elevate the Indian sea survival training ecosystem to global standards. The centre is projected to train 10,000-15,000 personnel annually, marking a significant leap in maritime safety.
